DESCRIPTION
Ficus Carica ‘Pingo De Mel Fig’ has green/yellow skin when ripe with light peachy pink flesh and honey notes. From Portugal, this fig's name when translated means "a drop of honey"!
Unlike many other figs, this variety’s skin resists cracking during rainfall, making it an excellent choice for both home gardens and commercial production.
They will thrive in both containers and open soil. When grown outdoors in open soil, they can reach an impressive height of up to 20 feet. When container grown, they should be kept around six feet. Despite their compact size in containers, these bushy plants are incredibly productive, yielding up to 150 figs per season. The fruits themselves are slightly larger than a golf ball, offering a satisfying size for fresh eating or culinary use.
