    DESCRIPTION

The Negronne fig (Ficus carica 'Negronne'), also known as the Violette de Bordeaux, has deep purple, almost black skin when ripe with a red flesh giving berry & honey notes. Negronne Fig is hardy down to zone 7. This deciduous fruit tree can tolerate temperatures between 0°–5°. In colder climates, you can protect it from temperatures below 25° F by storing it in a cool place, but make sure not to let it dry out. Because of its smaller tree size you could plant in a pot to easily move indoors for winter if you're in zones 6 or 7.

Figs love full sun, regular waterings and rich well draining soil. In spring when your fig starts to come out of dormancy you can apply a well balanced fertilizer.

    SHIPPING DETAILS

    Shipping Methods

Orders will be shipped via FedEx Home Delivery.

Orders are generally in route for 2-5 business days (depending on where you live).

We are sticklers about packaging and shipping your order in a way that guarantees healthy plants upon arrival. If plants are damaged on arrival, just let us know and we'll send you new ones or offer a full refund.

All of our plants are container grown and shipped with the soil and roots fully intact. We DO NOT ship your plants bare-root. Being shipped as a containered plant greatly reduces the risk of the plant not surviving the transit to your home.

Violette de Bordeaux Fig (Negronne) arrived healthy and safe/sound

I couldn’t be more pleased with my fig tree. She arrived, looking vibrant, green and healthy. I followed the instructions to let the little tree acclimate to the yard and location and so far she has adapted. I highly recommend The Greenhouse: service was prompt, packing was thoughtful and thorough and the plant/tree seems healthy. I await next year to see how my little violet the matures/

    Arrived healthy

Larger than I expected. Came in good shape. I’ve had it about a week and a half and it’s rooting well in a new pot.
