Balloon Flower, Platycodon grandiflorus, is ideal for both the novice and experienced gardener who want an easy to care for blast of white, pink or blue summer color. Interesting as it is pretty; the flowers first resemble small hot air balloons before they open up into their star-shaped blooming glory. Cut the 'balloon buds' and bring the fun inside for a unique indoor bouquet! Left on their own, Balloon Flower will do well in perennial beds, mixed borders, containers and contrast well with low growing, silver or light green-leaved companion plants.
