DESCRIPTION

Spirea Gold Flame, Spiraea x bumalda 'Gold Flame', is equally relished for its vividly changing foliage as it is for its flowers. You will find a golden hue to the new growth in spring as it turns to green and then yellow in fall. In the middle of the foliage show, bright pink flower heads will emerge in summer. With some sporadic dead heading the blooms can keep coming through early fall. Because of its vibrant foliage, Spirea Gold Flame looks particularly stunning next to dark evergreens and is a great shrub for masquerading a fence, wall or other unpleasing structure.

The shrub is doing well as long as I keep watering it. We have been having a drought, so I’ve been watering all of the plants. We finally got a little rain today. We still need more.
