Variegated Japanese Silver Grass (Miscanthus sinensis 'Variegatus') gets its name from the silvery-white plumes that emerge in late summer and last through much of fall. The emerald green and cream striped foliage grows erect and makes a handsome addition to any partial to full time sunny, perennial or garden bed. Japanese Silver Grass, Miscanthus sinensis 'Variegatus' makes a gorgeous backdrop for lower growing shrubs with contrasting deep foliage like that of Cotoneaster or Barberry.
