    DESCRIPTION

Dwarf Red-Osier Dogwood, Cornus sericea 'Kelseyi', is highly coveted for its scarlet stems. The dwarf variety stays compact at no more than 4' and needs little pruning compared to its larger parent species. Bright green deciduous foliage makes great filler in any garden bed or mixed border. Come winter, the leaves of Dwarf Red-Osier Dogwood give way to the magnificent red stems that make a vivid accent in the winter landscape. Use in front of, or among evergreens such as Hollies or Boxwoods, for a winter display that will rival any summer garden bed.

    SHIPPING DETAILS

    Shipping Methods

Orders will be shipped via FedEx Home Delivery.

Orders are generally in route for 2-5 business days (depending on where you live).

We are sticklers about packaging and shipping your order in a way that guarantees healthy plants upon arrival. If plants are damaged on arrival, just let us know and we'll send you new ones or offer a full refund.

All of our plants are container grown and shipped with the soil and roots fully intact. We DO NOT ship your plants bare-root. Being shipped as a containered plant greatly reduces the risk of the plant not surviving the transit to your home.

    Speechless?

As far as transaction and communication goes, The Greenhouse was great to work with. Shipping was a whole 'nother story. Delayed, come to find out, from a damaged box that had to be reboxed and relabeled. Understandable. Exterior box that original box was placed into was fine. Original box inside had a massive hole in the side. No biggie, I'm glad the issue was resolved along the way and that the kelseyi dogwoods made it shortly after original arrival date.
When I opened the box; however, the plants were positioned on their sides in a way the pot bottoms (nicely wrapped in plastic to keep the dirt in tact) were facing outward towards the ends of the box and the stems of the plant were facing one another with a sheet of cardboard (not secured in any way) placed in between. This is where I became frustrated. I understand that it has to be difficult to ship live potted plants in a manner that prevents them from becoming damaged, but this seemed like a surefire way to achieve MAXIMUM damage. Any vertical positioning of this long single compartment box throughout the shipping process enabled the weight of the plant above to slam directly down on the stemmed crown of the plant below. The piece of cardboard placed in between had little cushioning affect whatsoever. SO many branches were broken off and it really made me angry that someone there thought that this would be okay through the shipping process.
In my mind, this was the equivalent of The Greenhouse showing up at my door and when I answer it, exclaiming that my plants have arrived with arms outstretched while then proceeding to flip them upside down and slam them plant side down straight in the ground with a smile on their face. Packaging needs addressed, The Greenhouse...and while you're at it, consider using aother carrier because FedEx is careless and lacks modern day communication capabilities. Overall, plants DID arrive, they were alive and healthy (all things considered), and I'm looking forward to watching them grow. I'm going to vent my frustrations for transparency and awareness sake, but I'm giving 5 stars because I'm not petty and the process was ultimately a success.

The potted plants arrived in such good shape. The plant was dormant so I gave it a few days in our shop to acclimate. Within days green leaves popped out all over so I planted it the other day and it's thriving. Thanks so much! I can't wait to observe this plant over the next several years.
