The heart-shaped leaves are as showy as the blooms with a textured sheen that overlays the deep green and purple tinged foliage. As a semi-evergreen that thrives in shade to partly shady places, Labrador Violet, Viola labradorica makes a stunning woodland groundcover or edging.
